Seminole Valley Farm Museum is a 1900 farm site listed on the National Register of Historic Places. We are a non-profit organization ran completely by volunteers. Normal open hours are Sunday, 1 to 4, May through September (except Holidays). The Museum is a restored farm site to show what early farm life was like in Iowa.

Due to the June flood of 2008, the museum is currently closed to the public for repairs. However, we will continue to host our 3 annual outdoor events while we rebuild. Please visit us at these events and help support the museum in its efforts to re-open soon. For information on any of our events, please click on "Upcoming Events" and choose the event you are interested in.

Steam Show this coming weekend
As May is half over, we are coming up on our Steam and Gas Engine show. This year looks to be another fantastic show. We have new vendors coming out for our flea market and new exhibits for the public to enjoy. As always, we will have the steam powered sawmill up and going and the gang will be out doing chainsaw carving. And of course there will be plenty of tractors, engines, steam engines, and classic cars. Hope everyone will come out and have a great time with us. The weather looks to be great for us. Hope to see you there.

New Season

The 2012 season has started and we are looking at a lot of changes this year. (we hope). Plans are moving forward to get the entire museum rebuilt and open in 2012. At present, things are looking very hopefull. The one thing we need is pictures of the museum before the flood. Inside, outside, any building, all buildings, we need all we can get for the design team. So if you have a picture before the 2008 flood, please call or email us and help us out.
The other change this year is we are going to add a re-enactor workshop in June. This workshop will cover everything from Rendezvous to Steam and Gas Engine Show. Check out the page "workshops" to see what all is on the agenda. If you know someone who would like to get started in re-enacting or just wanting to learn some good old fashion skills, this will be for them.
Again, the season has started and it looks to be a busy one. We hope to see everyone at the events and look forward to seeing everyone. Thanks again for the great 2011 season and please help us make 2012 even better.
